Call the stat. StatCall does the rest.
You say what happened and who did it — StatCall logs it against that jersey number while you keep watching the game. This page covers everything: setup, what to say, and the answers to the questions people ask most.
Quick start — 2 minutes
Set up your team
Tap GET STARTED (or the MY TEAM tile). Give the team a name, then type your roster — one player per line as number, name. For example: 4, Pierce
Add your rounds
ROUNDS tile → add a round with the opponent and date. You can add the whole season now, or just this week's game.
Start game day
GAME DAY tile → pick the round → tap the big orange mic button. Allow microphone access when your phone asks. The button turns orange and says LISTENING.
Call the stats
Just talk at your phone: "tackle four" "carry seven" "try twelve". You'll hear a short beep and feel a buzz when it logs. Keep your eyes on the game.
Full time
Pop the score in, tap FULL TIME. Your graphs, season stats and the coaches report build themselves. Have a look under the STATS tile.
What to say
The pattern is always stat + jersey number. Say it like you'd say it out loud on the sideline — "tackle four", not "log a tackle for player number four".

Numbers work spoken or as digits — "tackle four" and "tackle 4" are the same thing. You can also call two in one breath: "tackle four carry seven".
Don't like a word? Change it. Every trigger word is yours to edit — see MY TEAM → Stats & trigger words. You can also add your own stats (scrum wins, kick metres, whatever you track) and drag them into the order you want.
Getting the best out of it
Get the mic closer. The single biggest thing. A cheap pair of wired earbuds with an inline mic puts the microphone near your mouth instead of metres away fighting the crowd — plug them in and StatCall uses them automatically.
Call it in a steady voice. Normal volume, normal speed. Shouting distorts; mumbling doesn't land.
Pick distinct words. Two-syllable words beat one ("carry" beats "hit"). If a word keeps mishearing at your ground, change it — that's what the trigger words editor is for.
Glance at the last call, don't stare. The beep tells you it landed. One beep = logged. Two low beeps = it didn't understand, say it again.
Use the tap pad when it's loud. Under the mic there's a backup: tap the stat, tap the player. Same result, no voice.
Got it wrong? Hit UNDO. Big button next to the last call. Removes the most recent entry.
FAQ
Do I need an account?
No. StatCall works fully without one — everything saves on your phone. An account (free) backs your teams up to the cloud and syncs them to your other devices, so you can track on your phone Saturday and review on the PC Sunday. It also means you don't lose your season if you lose your phone.
Does it work without phone signal?
Yes. Tracking is completely offline — ovals with no reception are exactly what it was built for. If you're signed in, it syncs automatically next time you have signal.
Where does my data live? Who can see it?
On your phone first. If you sign in, it also syncs to your own private account in the cloud (Australian servers). Nobody else can see it — not other coaches, not other clubs. No ads, no trackers, nothing sold. See the privacy policy.
Can two or three coaches share a team?
For now, yes — by sharing one login. Everyone signed into that account sees the same teams and stats on their own phone. One rule: only one phone should track a given game. Two phones tracking the same round will overwrite each other. Everyone can look at stats any time — that part's safe.
Proper multi-coach accounts (own login, invited to a team, parent view-only) are being built for a future release.
Can I track more than one team?
Yes. MY TEAMS → + ADD TEAM. Each team keeps its own roster, rounds, stats and trigger words. Handy if you're a manager running a couple of sides.
Can I get my stats out of the app?
Yes, always. Round CSV, season CSV, copy-for-spreadsheets, and a full backup file — all under MY TEAM and on each round. Your data is yours; it's never locked in.
Can I bring last season's data in?
Yes — MY TEAM → Import season data takes a CSV. Easiest way is to export a round first so you can see the format, then match it.
What's the coaches report?
Open any played round → COACHES REPORT. It writes up the game for you: result, how the team went against its season average, defence percentage, first half vs second half, who led each stat, the workhorses, and any season-best performances. Copy it straight into the team chat.
Does it work on iPhone?
Partly, for now. Open statcall.com.au in Safari and voice works. Everything else — stats, sync, reports — works on any phone or computer. A proper iPhone app is on the list.
How do I install it on my phone?
Android: open statcall.com.au in Chrome → tap Install app when it offers (or menu → Add to Home screen). iPhone: Safari → Share → Add to Home Screen.
I forgot my password.
Sign-in screen → type your email → tap Forgot password? → check your inbox (and spam). Nobody can see your password, including us — resetting is the only way in.
Troubleshooting
It's not hearing me at all
Check the mic button says LISTENING. If your phone never asked for microphone permission, or you said no: Chrome → site settings for statcall.com.au → allow Microphone. Then tap the mic again.
It stopped listening partway through the game
It should now revive itself within a few seconds. If it doesn't, tap the mic button to pause and tap it again to restart. Tell us if it happens — that one matters.
It logged the same thing twice
Some Android phones send the same voice result twice. StatCall now filters that. Make sure you're on the latest version: close the app completely, open it twice, and check the build number at the bottom of the page.
It keeps mishearing one particular word
Change the word. MY TEAM → Stats & trigger words → edit the say words for that stat to something more distinct, then SAVE STATS. Two-syllable words work best.
It logged a player who isn't on the field
It heard the number wrong. Tap UNDO and call it again. If a number mishears constantly, it's usually a similar-sounding one (nine/five) — the tap pad is your friend for those.
Something looks broken / stats are missing
First: close the app fully and reopen it twice — that pulls the newest version. Check the build number at the bottom of the screen matches what you've been told is current. Still wrong? Email us — and if it's your data, don't panic: if you're signed in, it's backed up in your account.
How do I know which version I'm on?
Scroll to the bottom of any screen in the app. It says statcall.com.au · build v30 (or whatever's current). Include that when you report a problem — it saves a lot of guessing.
